To the Parents and Gaurdians of HCS students,

           Across the state of Tennessee, the numbers of Flu, Strep, Covid and RSV are quickly rising.  This statement is being sent to make everyone aware that Humboldt City School Nurses will be monitoring our kids closely in the school system to prevent further spread of these illnesses.  Please listen to your children and monitor them for symptoms which may include fever, cough, chills and general malaise.  Please make sure you have an updated phone number in Powerschool so that we can reach you if your child becomes sick at school.  We also ask if your child is sent home with a fever, please take them to a physician or a walk-in clinic.  Also, they must be fever-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school, unless the physician says otherwise.  Thanks for your help as we try to keep our children safe and healthy.
