Humboldt High Schools Seniors Sign with WestRock

HCS Football Players Sign with WestRock

(Humboldt,TN, May 13, 2022) – Three Humboldt High School Football players signed to begin employment with WestRock in Humboldt, Tennessee.  The WestRock team was on hand to welcome Humboldt High School Seniors: Courtez Dickey, Devin Shutes, and Dion Manley as employees in training once they officially graduate from high school on May 20th.

WestRock managers and supervisors presented these seniors with the opportunity to officially sign their intent of employment as well as providing them with team jerseys and their first pair of work shoes.

WestRock is the 2nd largest American corrugated packing company with over 42,000 employees in 30 countries.

During the signing event, each WestRock team member welcomed the seniors to their team and provided words of encouragement and assurance that many opportunities await them on their next chapter with the company. This is the first time that Humboldt students and WestRock have embarked on this partnership which was developed through a conversation with Mr. Lewis Story, General Manager of the Humboldt facility and Coach Teddy Pettigrew, Humboldt High School Football Head Coach.

Family, Humboldt High School staff, and supporters were in attendance and also offered praise and encouragement to the seniors for making this important commitment for their future. This is a great opportunity for students at Humboldt City Schools and opens the door for continued partnership with the WestRock facility in Humboldt, Tennessee.
